Wiccan Mother Facing Losing Kids - Because Of Her Religion!

This has got to be one of the most shocking stories I've seen. This is the 21st century, and in a supposedly civilised supposedly developed country, Sylvia Ruiz is fighting for custody of her children and has struggled in the fight - because she's a Wiccan.

That's right - a practitioner of a peace-loving, nature-centred spiritual path, and it's being used against her. In a developed country. Whilst it would still be bad, I could at least understand (though not condone) if it was in some undeveloped part of Africa* - but we're talking about America. A country founded on religious freedom! And it's the 21st century (well it is for some of us - seems some Texans don't want to join us in it). Full (biased) story: http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/news/local/120314-wiccan-mom-fighting-for-her-kids

Unbiased coverage: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/wildhunt/2012/03/wiccan-convert-faces-custody-battle-in-texas.html

Let's hope the woman wins eh? Because, to turn around part of the story on the biased website, do we really want kids exposed to being constantly told to cover up their bodies as though there's something wrong with them (leading to potentially-dangerous self esteem issues), cannabalistic-style rituals involving drinking blood, dead saints, an image of a dead body on two planks of wood, and other Catholic items that we can't describe? Blessed Be Sylvia.

*Don't call me a racist - Africa's a continent anyway (not a country) and I'm sure many people have heard of widespread belief in witches in Africa and widespread belief they are (or can be) "evil".
